🧱 About Oribe Lantern
This type of lantern is said to have been invented by Shigenori Furuta (Furuta Oribe), a military commander and tea master from the Sengoku to Edo period. It is therefore known as an Oribe Lantern.
Each piece is handmade using natural granite quarried from Japan. The rough stone is machine-cut to approximate size, then carefully refined by hand. The lantern consists of six parts: ball, hat, fire bag, receiver, pillar, and base. The outline is shaped with a grinder, ensuring sharp edges and a polished finish. The natural stone base enhances the authentic Japanese atmosphere.
All parts are pre-glued for easy installation. This lantern allows you to enjoy the essence of Japanese culture with minimal setup. Each piece is meticulously crafted by Japanese artisans with heartfelt dedication.
