Kodai Round Type Stone Lantern (Classic Style) – Kimachi Stone from Matsue
2019 Model / In Stock
Description
This Kodai Round Type stone lantern is hand-carved from Kimachi Stone, a tuffaceous sandstone mined in the Kimachi area of Matsue City, Japan. This stone was formed 14 million years ago and is known for its elegant fine grain, ideal for both indoor and outdoor decoration. It is cold- and heat-resistant, develops moss easily, and weathers beautifully over time. There are even examples still intact from the early Edo period over 300 years ago.
