This Mini Owl Statue is a new 2026 model handcrafted by Kondo Stoneworks Co., Ltd., a Japanese stonemason workshop established in 1913.
The owl is carved from solid natural granite and finished by skilled Japanese stoneworkers. Its warm pale-pink stone tone, rounded form, and expressive face give it a distinctive character as both a decorative sculpture and a traditional-style garden accent.

About This Mini Owl Statue
This owl statue is handcrafted from solid Japanese granite. The rough stone is first machined close to the final dimensions, and the basic outline is then shaped with a grinder.
After the rough form is prepared, the owl is carved by hand using traditional stoneworking tools, including a setto hammer and chisel. The facial expression is especially difficult to reproduce in stone because each detail must be created through careful, controlled strikes with the chisel.
Considerable time is spent shaping the owl’s face, wings, body, and overall silhouette. After carving, coloring is applied by the stoneworker to enhance the expression and complete the final appearance.
At 8.88 lb / 4.03 kg, this owl has a substantial weight despite its relatively compact size. The solid granite construction gives it a grounded, stable presence suitable for a garden, entryway, shelf, or display space.

About Mannari Stone
Mannari Stone is a granite quarried around Okayama City in Okayama Prefecture, Japan.
It was formed by igneous activity during the Late Cretaceous, approximately 70 to 80 million years ago. The magma cooled slowly deep underground, allowing the mineral crystals characteristic of granite to develop.
Mannari Stone is known for its beautiful pale pink tone and is also sometimes referred to as “Sakura Mikage,” or cherry-blossom granite.
The warm color of the stone gives it a softer visual character than many gray granites while retaining the durability, weight, and natural mineral texture of granite.
Natural Granite Characteristics
Because this item is made from natural granite, variations in grain, mineral pattern, tone, and surface texture are normal.
Small dark mineral specks, lighter mineral areas, subtle pink and gray variations, and natural stone grain are part of the character of Mannari Stone and are not defects.
Hand-carved tool marks and small differences in the carved surface are also part of the individuality of a handcrafted stone sculpture.
