Mannari Stone, also called Mannari-ishi in Japanese, is an elegant pale pink granite quarried in Okayama Prefecture, Japan.

Its signature sakura-like tone comes from pink potassium feldspar set against light quartz and subtle dark mineral specks such as biotite and hornblende.

The result is a calm, refined stone surface. When viewed up close, the natural mineral pattern gives the piece more depth and quiet character.

Geological Background

Mannari Stone is granite that formed deep underground and was later exposed at the surface over a very long period of time.

It is associated with Late Cretaceous igneous activity and is believed to be roughly 70 to 90 million years old.
