What This Inari Statue Represents
At Inari shrines in Japan, foxes (kitsune) are not worshiped as gods themselves. They are regarded as divine messengers of Inari Ōkami, associated with agriculture, fertility, business success, and prosperity. In this context, an inari statue is often seen as a protective presence at entrances and along shrine paths.
