This is a medium-sized Yukimi stone lantern, handcrafted in Japan by Ishitake Stone Industry Co., Ltd., founded in 1971.

Yukimi lanterns are iconic stone lanterns of Japanese gardens, designed to allow visitors to enjoy the beauty of the thin layer of snow that gently rests on their wide umbrellas. This model features a unique rectangular shape inspired by the traditional Yukimi style.

The stone used is authentic granite quarried in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture — a region known for its legacy of skilled stonemasons.

The small black specks visible on the surface are natural biotite or iron minerals found in the granite, further emphasizing the authenticity of the material.
