Product Description
Oshima Stone Beads – Crafted in Kyoto
Oshima Stone is a fine white granite quarried from Iyo-Oshima Island in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. Formed approximately 90 million years ago, it is one of Japan’s most prestigious natural stones—recognized alongside Aji Stone as a premium monument-grade material from the Seto Inland Sea region.
Characterized by its hardness and fine grain, Oshima Stone is widely used for tombstones, monuments, and architectural elements throughout Japan.
This elegant stone has been carefully handcrafted into Buddhist prayer beads in Kyoto, the traditional heart of Juzu-making. Each piece is skillfully made by experienced Kyoto artisans and features a luxurious crystal finish, beautifully presented in a traditional paulownia wood box.
A graceful blend of ancient Earth and refined Japanese craftsmanship.
