Packing method	Each stone component was wrapped individually with bubble wrap and secured with packing tape. Corrugated cardboard was then added around the outside for additional protection. Cardboard tubes were also used around certain openings and as spacers inside the shipping boxes. The protected stone components were divided between two cardboard boxes, and the bottom of each box was reinforced with hot glue. After sealing, the outer packaging was secured with stretch wrap. Fragile labels and UPS international shipping documents were attached, and one of the packages was also reinforced with packing straps.

Shipping an Okazaki Nakame Stone Oribe Lantern to the United States by UPS

An Oribe Stone Lantern is assembled from several separate stone components. Instead of shipping the lantern fully assembled, we protected each individual stone section before packing it for international transportation.

Each component was first wrapped with bubble wrap and secured with packing tape. Because the parts have different shapes—including flat sections, thicker sections, and pieces with openings—the protective materials were adjusted to fit each component.

Corrugated cardboard was then added around the bubble-wrapped parts for additional reinforcement. This created another protective layer between the stone and the outer shipping boxes and helped reduce direct contact and movement during transportation.
