How We Packed a Stone Sushi Geta for UPS Shipping to the USA

We shipped a stone sushi geta serving stand from Japan to a customer in the United States by UPS.

A sushi geta is a traditional Japanese serving platform used to present sushi, sashimi, and other dishes. It is called a “geta” because its raised shape resembles a traditional Japanese wooden sandal.

Because this stone serving stand is flat and relatively heavy, we protected it according to its shape before placing it inside UPS shipping packaging.

Flat stone products can receive concentrated impact along their edges and corners. We therefore used layered individual packaging to add thickness around the item and help keep it stable inside the outer shipping package.
