We shipped a Yukimi Stone Lantern from Japan to a customer in the United States by UPS.
This Yukimi Stone Lantern is a stone lantern for Japanese garden use. Even though it is a small stone lantern, it has real weight, and impact can concentrate on the roof section, legs, corners, and raised details during international shipping.
For this shipment, each stone part was protected separately, secured so it would not move inside the box, and shipped from Japan to the United States by UPS.
A Certificate of Authenticity was also included with the stone lantern so the buyer can confirm the item and shipment record.

Base section wrapped with paper
Including the Certificate of Authenticity
Securing the stone parts inside the box
Securing the first box inside an outer box

Checking Each Part Before Packing
First, we checked each part of the Yukimi Stone Lantern.
A stone lantern is made of several parts with different shapes, such as the roof section, body, and legs. If differently shaped stone parts are packed together without enough protection, they may touch each other during transport and cause scratches or chips.
For that reason, we checked the shape, corners, raised areas, and bottom of each part and decided where thicker cushioning was needed.
Protecting Each Stone Part Separately
For this shipment, each stone part was protected one by one.
A Yukimi Stone Lantern is a small stone lantern, but it still has real weight. If stone parts touch each other directly during transport, vibration can cause scratches or chips.
We used air cushioning, paper, and cardboard material to help prevent direct contact between the stone parts.
Wrapping with Air Cushioning, Paper, and Cardboard Material
The stone parts were wrapped with paper or air cushioning first, then supported with cardboard material where needed.
Air cushioning helps absorb small impacts during transport. Paper works as a protective layer to help prevent the stone surface from rubbing directly against packing materials. Cardboard material helps protect flat surfaces and edges while keeping the overall packing shape stable.
Stretch film was also used to keep the protective materials from shifting.
Reinforcing the Bottom of the Cardboard Box with Hot Glue
Even small stone products can be heavy, so the bottom of the cardboard box needs special attention.
For this shipment, hot glue was used to bond and reinforce the bottom of the cardboard box. This helps reduce the risk of the box bottom opening, sagging, or becoming weak under the weight during transport.
For international shipping of stone products, it is important not only to protect the item itself, but also to make sure the box stays strong until delivery.
Keeping the Contents from Moving Inside the Box
The protected stone parts were placed inside the cardboard box, and paper or air cushioning was added around them.
During international shipping, a box may not always stay in the same position. It may be placed sideways or come into contact with other packages during sorting, transfer, air transport, customs clearance, and final delivery.
For that reason, it is important not to leave unnecessary empty space inside the box. When the contents do not move inside the box, the impact transferred to the stone parts can be reduced.
UPS Shipping in Two Packages
This Yukimi Stone Lantern was finally shipped by UPS as two packages.
Instead of forcing all stone parts into one box, separating the shipment based on weight and shape helps improve stability during transport.
Each box was marked with a FRAGILE / HANDLE WITH CARE label, and international shipping documents were attached. After shipment, the delivery status can be checked with the UPS tracking number.

Why the Stone Lantern Was Packed in Separate Packages
A Yukimi Stone Lantern is made of several stone parts.
Stone is a hard material. Because of that hardness, if stone parts touch each other during transport, impact can concentrate on one point. The roof edges, raised details, and leg ends need especially careful protection.
By protecting the parts separately and shipping them in two packages when needed, we can reduce the risk of stone-to-stone contact during transport.
Even a small stone lantern needs a different packing approach from ordinary lightweight goods when it is shipped overseas.
UPS Shipping from Japan to the United States
This Yukimi Stone Lantern was carefully packed in Japan and shipped to the United States by UPS.
For overseas customers, buying a stone product from Japan can raise a natural question: will it really arrive safely?
We record the actual packing process with photos and publish shipping examples to show how our stone products are prepared for international delivery from Japan.
A Yukimi Stone Lantern is not just a simple garden decoration. It carries the atmosphere of a Japanese garden, along with the weight of stone, the shape of the lantern, and the work of Japanese craftsmanship.
That is why packing and shipping after the sale are also important steps in protecting the value of the item. We also send packing photos to the buyer who purchased the item.
