We shipped a Mini Jizo with Globus Cruciger from Japan to a customer in Australia by DHL.
This item is made of two stone parts: the Jizo statue itself and a round base. Although it is a small item, it is made of stone and has real weight, so careful packing is important for international shipping.
During international delivery, a package does not always stay upright. It may be turned sideways or come into contact with other packages during sorting, transfer, air transport, customs clearance, and final delivery.
For this shipment, we protected the Jizo statue and the base separately, kept them from moving inside the box, and shipped the package to Australia by DHL.

Checking the Item Before Packing
First, we checked the condition of the Jizo statue and the round base.
The Jizo statue has a rounded shape, but it also has carved areas such as the face, shoulders, and lower body. These areas need to be protected so that direct impact does not reach the carved surface.
The base is a round stone part. Although it is flat, the edge can be vulnerable if impact is concentrated in one place. For that reason, we protected the base separately from the Jizo statue.
Protecting the Jizo Statue and Base Separately
For this shipment, we did not wrap the Jizo statue and base together. Each part was protected separately.
If stone parts touch each other inside the box, vibration during transport can cause scratches or chips. This is especially important when the parts have different shapes, such as a statue and a round base.
The Jizo statue was wrapped according to its shape, and the round base was protected so that its edge would not receive direct impact.
Wrapping with Air Cushioning and Cardboard
The Jizo statue and base were wrapped with air cushioning, then supported with cardboard.
Air cushioning helps absorb small impacts during transport. Cardboard helps protect the stone surface and edges, while also keeping the overall packing shape more stable.
A rounded stone item like this Jizo statue should not be allowed to roll inside the box. The round base also needs to be fixed so it does not move during shipping.
Keeping the Parts from Moving Inside the Box
The protected Jizo statue and base were placed inside the cardboard box.
The important point is not to leave unnecessary empty space inside the box. If there is too much space, the item can move during transport, and the weight of the stone can create a stronger impact.
For this shipment, air cushioning was placed around the Jizo statue and base to keep them stable inside the box.
Reinforcing the Bottom of the Cardboard Box with Hot Glue
Even small stone products can be heavy, so the bottom of the cardboard box needs special attention.
For this package, hot glue was used to bond and reinforce the bottom of the cardboard box. This helps reduce the risk of the box bottom opening, sagging, or becoming weak under the weight during transport.
For international shipping of stone products, it is important not only to protect the item itself, but also to make sure the box stays strong until delivery.
Sealing the Box and Preparing It for DHL Shipping
After the Jizo statue and base were placed inside the box, the outer box was sealed with packing tape.
The outside was then covered with a DHL shipping bag, and a FRAGILE / HANDLE WITH CARE label was attached before shipment.
A fragile label shows that the package should be handled with care, but the label alone does not protect the item. The real protection comes from wrapping the item properly, preventing stone-to-stone contact, keeping the parts from moving inside the box, and reinforcing the bottom of the cardboard box.
This Mini Jizo with Globus Cruciger was shipped from Japan to a customer in Australia by DHL with a tracking number.

Why the Two Stone Parts Were Packed Separately
The Jizo statue and the round base are both made of stone.
Stone is a hard material. Because of that hardness, if two stone parts touch during transport, impact can concentrate on one point. The carved areas of the statue and the edge of the base need special care.
By packing the Jizo statue and base separately, we reduce the risk of stone-to-stone contact during transport.
Even a small stone product needs a different packing approach from ordinary lightweight goods when it is shipped overseas.
DHL Shipping from Japan to Australia
This Mini Jizo with Globus Cruciger was carefully packed in Japan and shipped to Australia by DHL.
For overseas customers, buying a stone product from Japan can raise a natural question: will it really arrive safely?
We record the actual packing process with photos and publish shipping examples to show how our stone products are prepared for international delivery from Japan.
A Jizo statue is not just a simple ornament. It has the weight of stone, the shape of handwork, and a quiet expression that is part of Japanese stone craftsmanship.
That is why packing and shipping after the sale are also important steps in protecting the value of the item.
