About the EU GPSR
Share
The EU established the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) on December 13, 2024.
The purpose of GPSR is to ensure that only safe imported products are sold to EU consumers.
It requires materials, manuals, and other product information to be translated into the languages of EU member states and submitted.
This regulation applies to both new and used products, with rare exceptions such as antiques over 100 years old.
Currently, I do not sell or ship to the EU.
To comply with GPSR, one of the following three measures is required:
1. Stationing staff from the manufacturer of the imported products in the EU.
2. Stationing agents from the manufacturer of the imported products in the EU.
3. Appointing an import responsible person within the EU.
The first two options are unrealistic due to high costs.
However, the third option is more feasible.
I have heard that Japanese gardens are popular in the EU.
Before GPSR was enacted, we shipped many stone lanterns to the EU.
We are currently seeking a company willing to act as an import responsible person in the EU.
Our company offers wholesale stone products on a B2B basis.
Container shipping is ideal to reduce transportation costs.
We are also looking for gardening companies in the EU capable of installing large and heavy stone products.
